EYE EXPO TO KICK OFF RETINA WEEK

An eye expo is being held in Auckland on Saturday September 22 to kick off Retina Week from September 23-29.

The No Nonsense Eye Sense eye expo is being jointly run by the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind and Retina New Zealand. It will include exhibits from eye specialists, researchers, health groups and companies offering specialised eye products.

A range of seminars will run throughout the day offering information about eye conditions affecting the over 50s. There will also be information on detection of eye problems, ways to care for your eyes, and places to go for support.

The expo will focus on ways of preventing sight loss with the opportunity for general health checks, blood tests and eye tests, including visual screening, glaucoma and cornea checks.
