Guild endorses Markhams as preferred accounting firm

Pharmacy Guild has endorsed chartered accountants and business advisory firm, Markhams, as its preferred supplier of financial and accounting services for guild members.

Markhams is a New Zealand network of independent locally-owned firms providing financial and accounting services to business and private clients across a wide range of industries.

There are Markhams firms in Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin Wanganui, and Wairarapa.

The guild says the decision to endorse Markhams was a logical choice given Markhams’ history of providing a quality service to community pharmacies.

“Good financial management is the backbone of a profitable, well functioning business. With over 80 pharmacies around the country already on their books, Markhams has a unique understanding of the community pharmacy environment and can help pharmacy owners reach their business goals,” guild chief executive Annabel Young says.

Atul Mehta, Markhams Auckland director and head of the group’s pharmacy business development unit, believes the endorsement is a privilege but one that has been well-earned.

“Our Pharmacy unit is proactive and has taken a keen interest in the dynamics of this industry over many years. In addition, we have built excellent relationships with all the major players in the pharmacy industry including brand managers, wholesalers, government agencies and all other suppliers.

“We look forward to sharing our collective knowledge to help pharmacy owners around the country improve their profitability and meet their individual objectives.”

In addition to its professional services, Markhams will be working with the guild to provide practical business advice to members in the coming months.
